The official Twitter account of the Pokémon franchise has released new promotional material, which provides more information about the upcoming anime series’ protagonist, Liko. It is evident that she has an incredible pendant and is highly driven to explore and learn things on her own. Additionally, the video gives details about Liko’s companion, Roy, and the Pokémon professor, Friede, with his partner, Captain Pikachu. Finally, it confirms that the anime will debut in 2023.

Pikachu and Ash Ketchum are no longer the main characters of Pokémon
At the close of last year, the Pokémon franchise made a surprise announcement that Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series would be the final journey for Ash Ketchum and his beloved Pikachu. In the show, Ash attained the highest honor of being crowned Monarch (the strongest trainer) by winning the World Coronation Series. Although this signaled Ash’s departure from the anime, many fans have speculated that he won’t be gone for good and that Liko may be his daughter.
In the promotional video, viewers get to witness the affectionate bond between Liko and her partner, Sprigatito, from the ninth generation of Pokémon. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which were released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in November 2022, introduced this new generation of characters, with the Spain-inspired region of Paldea being featured.
Scarlet and Violet created a lot of expectations before their launch, becoming the most pre-ordered Pokémon titles ever. Unfortunately, upon their release, reviews were mixed due to an abundance of bugs and glitches which were, in some cases, game-breaking. Many people saw the humor in the situation and made memes and videos, but others sought refunds from Nintendo.
A new Pokémon series, starring Liko, Roy, Friede, and Captain Pikachu, is on its way, with Netflix set to premiere the stop-motion animated show Pokémon Concierge. This will follow Haru, a resort worker, as she interacts with visitors and their Pokémon. Although the exact date of release has yet to be confirmed by the streaming service.
The newly announced Pokémon anime featuring Liko is yet to be revealed on which platform it will be available for streaming. However, Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series can currently be watched on Netflix.
