Beelzebub, the prince of demons, joins hands with a local sheriff Rao to embark on a quest for the fabled Phantom Lake.

Sand Land, a manga series created by Akira Toriyama, may not be as well-known as his Dragon Ball series, which has sold over 260 million copies worldwide. However, it has received positive reviews from both critics and readers, leading to a significant following and prestige. This has resulted in an animated movie adaptation by Sunrise, the studio responsible for classics such as Cowboy Bebop and the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. Toriyama expressed his excitement for the project, stating that he never expected the manga to receive a visual adaptation after over 20 years, and the quality of the images he has seen is like a dream come true despite still having some unfinished parts.
