Jujutsu Kaisen has taken the anime world by storm with its unique blend of supernatural action and horror elements. The show boasts a wide array of fascinating characters, each with their own distinct abilities and personalities. One such character is Megumi Fushiguro, a reserved student of Jujutsu High who possesses the rare Ten Shadow’s technique. In this blog, we will dive into the intricacies of this powerful technique and explore how it has been utilized throughout the series.
The Ten Shadow’s Technique, which Sukuna obtained from Megumi Fushiguro, has the potential to enhance his already impressive Domain Expansion and make it invincible in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Following the transfer of Ryomen Sukuna’s soul into Megumi Fushiguro’s body in Jujutsu Kaisen, the antagonist has demonstrated a greater proficiency in using the Ten Shadows cursed technique compared to the student sorcerer. Sukuna has even unveiled two new shikigami that were previously unknown to Megumi and is believed to have successfully tamed the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga. It is expected that Sukuna will continue to make progress and eventually incorporate this new technique into his Domain Expansion.
In the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, only a handful of sorcerers possess the skill to perform Domain Expansions successfully. Out of all the characters, Hakari Kinji and Kenjaku are the only ones who have been able to execute them consistently. Hakari’s Domain bestows him with an unlimited amount of cursed energy, which makes it easier for him to achieve this feat. Kenjaku, on the other hand, has multiple cursed techniques at his disposal that allow him to access multiple unique Domains. Sukuna, another character, possesses two cursed techniques that suggest he may be able to perform Domain Expansions as well. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg, as the Ten Shadows may enhance the strength of his Domain even further.
The Comparative Domain Expansions of Megumi and Sukuna
Megumi was able to perform his Domain Expansion in Jujutsu Kaisen through his strong determination, without needing to create a separate area to project it onto. It is unclear whether this was due to his limited practice or inherent abilities. Similarly, Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine also lacks boundaries for his Domain, but this seems to be a deliberate choice on his part.
The Domains without borders are more extensive than the conventional ones, but they have a drawback of being vulnerable to opponents who are quick enough to walk out of them. However, Megumi found a way to overcome this weakness during his battle with Reggie Star by projecting his Shadow Garden onto an existing physical structure. This allowed him to harness the advantages of his Domain’s lack of structure while reducing the dangers associated with it.
What Sukuna Could Use Chimera Shadow Garden For?
Megumi has a special ability called the “Domain” that allows him to summon countless shikigami to attack his enemies without any effort on his part. However, with Sukuna’s immense levels of cursed energy, the number of shikigami summoned could potentially become infinite. Additionally, Sukuna has the power to create empowered versions of these shikigami that only he can conjure. With his unparalleled mastery of jujutsu, he may even be able to infuse the shikigami with his own techniques, ensuring that every strike is accompanied by his signature slashes.
Although the thought of Nue or Divine Dog Totality using Cleave and Dismantle is frightening, the true peril of Fushiguro’s Domain is rooted in the fact that it’s an absolute illusion of his shadow. If both Domains are activated at once, the consequence could be the non-stop activation of Cleave and Dismantle across the entire area, while also giving Sukuna the ability to teleport at will all over the space, which could be a perplexing experience for foes.
The above concept can also be extended to Ryomen Sukuna’s other cursed skill, that is based on flames. In principle, Sukuna can transform the entire Domain into a real furnace as his cursed energy can be emanated from any point within it. It’s unlikely that any Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerer without an equally potent Domain could survive such an attack.
