The popular anime show Mashle: Magic and Muscles is aiming to reach a wider audience by releasing its English dubbed version on the streaming platform Crunchyroll.
Aleks Le’s casting as the English voice actor for Mash Burnedead’s protagonist was teased in a tweet, but the official confirmation of the English dub version of Mashle was not released until a few days later. Another tweet from the anime’s official Twitter account revealed the rest of the English voice actor cast, which consists of members who have starred in some of the top anime of recent. This move by A-1 Pictures, the anime production company behind Mashle, suggests that they are putting in a lot of effort to maintain the anime’s already-achieved popularity, despite it being in its early stages.

According to the tweet, Crunchyroll’s anime streaming service will be airing the dubbed version of the anime on Friday, May 26, 2023. The English dub cast will feature Stephan Fu as Lance, Finn portrayed by Brian Anderson, Lemon voiced by Anjali Kunapaneni, and Dot played by Ben Diskin.
The release of Mashle’s English Dub comes as the plot thickens
The plot of the anime is based on the Hajime Komoto manga of the same title. It narrates the story of a young man named Mash Burnedead, who is, unfortunately, unable to use magic like most people in his world. As a result of the discrimination that “magic-less” people face, Mash’s stepfather enrolls him in a physical training program. Through this regimen, Mash acquires the strength, stamina, speed, and toughness of a superhero. With these abilities, he is able to feign the use of magic and also effectively counter magic spells targeted at him.
Currently, there have been six regular episodes and one special recap episode of the Japanese version broadcast. The next Japanese episode is scheduled to debut on May 26, 2023. In the previous episodes, Mash and his fellow residents from the Adler House at Easton Magic College managed to survive an attack by the Lang House members who tried to steal their rewards for completing tasks or winning competitions during a field exercise. Later on, they found out that the leader of the Lang House is a hazardous individual. This development naturally leads to more clashes between the two houses as Mash unintentionally interrupts a Lang House ceremony.
Despite being in the early stages of its animated series, Mashle: Magic and Muscles has been one of the most well-received anime since premiering on April 7, 2023. The introduction of an English dub version is expected to further increase its popularity and audience retention.
The English dubbed version of Mashle: Magic and Muscles is scheduled to debut on Crunchyroll on May 26th, 2023.
