Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Check Out Geto and Gojo New Images

Promotional visuals featuring Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo have been released to generate excitement for the upcoming premiere of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. Uploaded to the anime’s official Twitter, the images portray the two special-grade sorcerers wearing their high school uniforms. In particular, Geto’s trousers are noticeably loose while Gojo has glasses with dark lenses instead of his usual black blindfold. This artwork seemingly hints that viewers may get to see some flashbacks to their time as students at Jujutsu High in the new season.

Jujutsu Kaisen, the ongoing manga series by Gege Akutami, debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in March 2018. To date, the manga has spanned 22 volumes. The story focuses on Yuji Itadori, a high school student with pink hair, who becomes embroiled in a mission to protect people from the “King of Curses,” Ryomen Sukuna, after consuming one of his withered fingers. With help from his classmates, Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo – the strongest sorcerer in the world – Itadori strives to give people meaningful lives, so they can have meaningful deaths.

The record-breaking manga Jujutsu Kaisen by Akutami has sold more than 70 million copies worldwide and is highly acclaimed alongside Tokyo Revengers by Ken Wakui and My Hero Academia by Kōhei Horikoshi. Fans have been showing their admiration of the series by creating incredible fan-made works; recently, realistic fan art of Gojo depicting his striking blue eyes and a fun holiday cosplay featuring him giving presents to Geto have been circulated.

The Jujutsu Kaisen manga’s tremendous success has led to various adaptations in different forms, such as video games and stage plays. The anime produced by MAPPA (Yuri!!! on Ice) premiered its opening season in October 2020 and, just like the manga, it had a highly positive response from viewers, which earned it the title of Anime of the Year, Best Antagonist and Best Ending Sequence at the 5th Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

Manabu Ohtsuka, CEO of MAPPA, recently expressed his excitement for the upcoming second season of Jujutsu Kaisen during an interview. He stated that his team is not just rehashing the same material and that they are aiming for “even greater success and bigger growth” during this new installment. July 2023 will mark the premiere of the highly anticipated anime’s second season as part of the summer anime season.
