What Is Chainsaw Man About?

What Is Chainsaw Man About

Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga first began appearing in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump in December 2018, and in 2020, it moved to Shōnen Jump+, where it is still being serialized. After the publication of Chapter 121, the title went on a brief hiatus, leaving readers with a suspenseful cliffhanger. The story follows Denji, a severely struggling young man who has to take on dangerous jobs in order to pay off the debt left by his deceased father. After being betrayed by his employers, he is then recruited by a mysterious government agency and is given the ability to transform his limbs into chainsaws, which he uses to fight off devils that threaten the world.

Chainsaw Man has achieved astronomical success, selling more than 23 million copies worldwide and establishing itself as one of the all-time greatest manga alongside Rave Master by Hiro Mashima and Saiyuki by Kazuya Minekura. Additionally, Fujimoto’s work has earned numerous spots on the New York Best Sellers list for graphic books, and it was awarded the prestigious Harvey Award in both 2021 and 2022.

Fanworks of Chainsaw Man

The manga’s immense admiration and fame have made it a frequent source of fan-made works, and Kishibe isn’t the only one being cosplayed. For instance, a talented Chainsaw Man enthusiast created an amazing version of Makima, capturing her menacing essence, and Stella Chuu, the TikTok star, posted a video of her Himeno cosplay.

Enthusiasts also create artwork to honor the series. Hanavbara, a well-loved online artist couple, has posted numerous pictures that reconstruct beloved figures such as Denji, Power, Aki, and Pochita in the antique Sailor Moon anime style of the 1900s. This altered style provides the usually bloody and grim world of Chainsaw Man with an enchanting transformation.

In North America, VIZ Media supplies the Chainsaw Man manga.
