After 16 years, the popular anime fighting game series Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is getting a new installment in the franchise.

At the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023 event, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Toei Animation announced a fourth installment of the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series, which hasn’t had a mainline release in 16 years. The teaser trailer showed clips from the PlayStation 2 era of the game, with new footage of Goku transforming into his Super Saiyan Blue form, as seen in the Dragon Ball Super anime.

How soon will Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4 be released?

At the present, no date, console, or developer has been identified for Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4. Nevertheless, following a 16-year wait, admirers of the Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi fighting series are delighted that a fresh game is underway. The most recent main game, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, was released for the PS2 and Nintendo Wii in 2007. The Dragon Ball cartoons have gained in popularity since the 2005 fighting video games. The Japanese animated series Super Dragon Ball Heroes has a woman villain called Aeos, who is increasingly popular among Dragon Ball followers. Certain characters such as Super Saiyan Broly (not to be confused with Caulifla from Dragon Ball Super) and Mai from Emperor Pilaf’s bunch have resurfaced and gained attention. The new animated movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero brought back Piccolo and Gohan as fighters.
